WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

Before we created Homestead Engraving, we were both really busy with our fulltime jobs. With a growing family we knew we wanted something more flexible.

I grew up in a crafting family. My mom had a crafting business for most of my life.

​

Then one day after our second child was born, I didn’t want to be away as much as I had been. I knew I wanted to start my own business.

​

I was concerned that I was making a mistake when I decided to quit my fulltime job to chase my dream.

​

But then,

​

I started receiving feedback from my first few customers. They loved the quality of my work and asked for more customized items.

​

I decided to invest in some new equipment to make my items the best quality possible.

​

It turns out the road was more difficult than I imagined.

​

I wanted to make sure my customers were getting the best items out there. I did so much research to make sure they were getting the best quality and value out there.

​

We did several trial runs on every product we use to ensure they are in fact premium products before we list them.

After losing my mom…

in 2017, both Sara and I transitioned to working our business fulltime. We welcomed four beautiful child into our lives and we love that we have the ability to be home with them. 

​

Through it all, we released our first products and the response has been truly remarkable.
